> What Etsy asks sellers who are traders to add for buyers in the EEA and Northern Ireland, where the fields are in Shop Manager and listing forms, and how the opt-out from GPSR countries works.

Etsy has added GPSR fields to shops and listings. Here is what Etsy’s own Help Center says, with the menu paths.

## Who it applies to

Sellers who are **traders** and sell items to buyers in **EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Northern Ireland**. Etsy cannot tell you whether you are a trader or a private individual and suggests asking a legal adviser.

## What Etsy asks you to add

- An **economic operator** on your account and/or in the **Manufacturers** field of your listing forms. Etsy reminds sellers that products cannot be placed on the EU market unless an EU-based economic operator is responsible for key safety tasks, and that a manufacturer outside the EU may appoint a responsible person such as an authorised representative.
- The applicable information in the **Product safety info** field of your listing forms.
- Your **trader status**: Shop Manager > Sales channels > pencil icon next to your shop > Seller details > Edit.

## Opting out of GPSR countries

In **Shop Manager > Settings > Options**, under “Choose how you sell to GPSR states”, you can opt out — separately for physical and digital items. If you do, buyers in the EEA and Northern Ireland cannot buy from your shop.

## Finding a responsible person

Etsy mentions Cert-Rep and International Associates as providers that offer GPSR compliance services, including help finding an EU-based responsible person. Our [comparison of published provider prices](/en/eu-compliance/responsible-person-providers/) lists other providers with their prices and conditions.

## Checklist

1. Decide whether you sell to the EEA and Northern Ireland at all — if not, use the opt-out.
2. Add an EU-based economic operator (for example an authorised representative) to your account or listings.
3. Fill in the Manufacturers and Product safety info fields; the [GPSR label generator](/en/eu-compliance/gpsr-label-generator/) gives you warnings in each buyer country’s language.
4. Check national rules for your main markets, for example [Germany](/en/eu-compliance/guides/gpsr-germany/) or [France](/en/eu-compliance/guides/gpsr-france/).

Run the [compliance checker](/en/eu-compliance/) to see which EU rules apply to your product.
